Samsara is a Poetic Documentary that has received moderately good critical reviews. Here's several points that should be taken into account when analyzing Samsara that could be useful in my own documentary filmmaking.
- Filmed over 5 years- This alone is amazing, I enjoy the use of time-lapses. I can aknowledge the amount of time used to create these time-lapses.
- The opening scene made me question the story-telling aspects of the film.
- Cinematography was incredible!!!! -This really made the film different.
- Color correction seems almost too perfect.
- Juxtaposition really tells the story for example, the children looking on to the men working on the mandala.
- DETAIL- so so so much detail omniscient?
- Conformity is a huge theme in this movie. The scene of the teacher going crazy and the robots is extremely uncomfortable. The reason this is done so well is because it's not subtle, it's jarring.
